Valentine’s Afternoons Tonight! goes on tour

Amongst all the staff changes at the ABC, the multi-talented James Valentine has made the cut and will continue with his Afternoon shift through 2018.

While his talent as a radio host is undisputed, perhaps it’s his other skills as a musician and writer along with his stage skills that make him invaluable to the ABC brand.

As an accomplished saxophonist, he is a sought-after session muso and has performed with rock acts such as Jo Jo ZepModels and Absent Friends.

More recently his live show Afternoons Tonight! has played to sold out audiences at the Sydney Opera House. Having played other venues in Sydney and in the Blue Mountains, next year he’ll take the show further afield to audiences in regional NSW including Bathurst, Griffith, Dubbo  and Nowra as well as all the way to Perth in WA.

Audiences can expect live versions of his popular radio segments This is What I Live With, Ex, The New Normal, Petty Crime Stoppers.

Afternoons Tonight! is billed as a fantastically funny and interactive night at the theatre and a great insight into how this radio show really works.

On top of his skills as an announcer and musician, James Valentine has worked as a journalist, author and television host. He also presents the ABC Podcast Head Room.
