You may be forgiven for thinking that Melbourne’s vega 91.fm is populated by over 40’s to be listened to by over 40’s. Yet breakfast co-host Dave O’Neil will celebrate his 21st birthday for the first time with a big bash this Wednesday at Mitcham RSL.

In truth it’s a massive piece of spin trying to pass off a 43 year old O’Neil as a 21 year old. The sob story goes that announcer and comedian Dave O’Neil didn’t have a 21st birthday when he was young. It was 1986, he was unemployed and his parents, Kev and Joyce, thought their twin boys could use the money more wisely.

Now that fame and success have nestled in his flannelette shirt’s breast pocket, his co-hosts, Dicko and Chrissie will throw Dave the hottest 80’s bash.

Reflecting 1986, the era when Dave turned 21, the party will have an 80’s theme.
