Vic Consumer Affairs will not intervene between Ash Long and Steve Price

The Victorian consumer affairs department says it will not interfere in Melbourne Talk Radio name issue.

A spokesperson for Consumer Affairs Victoria has told radioinfo:

Consumer Affairs Victoria administers the Business Name Act 1962, requiring names other than those of individuals to be registered, and that business must start operating within two months of the business name being registered.

Under the Act it is an offence for a party to trade under a business name that is not registered to them.

Consumer Affairs Victoria believes this is a private matter between persons in the media industry who should conduct their business based on their own legal advice.
