Volcano eruption grounds 2CC’s Mark Parton

2CC Breakfast Announcer Mark Parton was due back on-air tomorrow but he is stuck central Argentina possibly till Sunday.

Whilst flights in Australia have been affected by the volcanic ash from the Chilean volcano eruption, flight schedules throughout South America have been facing the same predicament.

Mark was due to catch a flight from Bogotá to Buenos Aires before flying back to Australia, but his flight was diverted to the central Argentinean city of Córdoba, where he remains in high spirits.

“I’ve been put up in accommodation that resembles something from the Blues Brothers movie” Mark told Jorian Gardner, who is filling Mark’s Breakfast shift in his absence. “The locals are not even aware there is a volcanic ash cloud, you can’t see it, and the sky is blue. I think this is a Ross Solly plot” ( Solly is a 666 ABC Breakfast Announcer).

Jorian Gardner will continue in the chair till Mark’s return, which at this stage looks to be mid next week.
