Sally Sara and Victoria Pengilley have won the Walkley Award for Radio News and Current Affairs for their series of interviews about Afghanistan for ABC RN Breakfast and The World Today
Sally Sara was previously the ABC’s correspondent in Afghanistan and now presents The World Today.
The awards were presented at a ceremony last night in Sydney.
Best Radio/Audio Feature was awarded to Angus Grigg and Lap Phan from The Australian Financial Review for The Sure Thing podcast.
Samantha Maiden has won the Gold Walkley, Australian journalism’s highest honour, for her reporting for news.com.au on “Open secret: The Brittany Higgins story.”
