West Coast Radio’s Gunners and Ali wave goodbye to Coast FM

West Coast Radio’s latest project, 91.7 The Wave will launch on 1st October with Mandurah’s number one breakfast duo, Gunners and Ali in the prime shift.

The duo, currently on 97.3 Coast Live, be heard every weekday from 6am to 10am.

Gunners says he is excited about the challenge of the new station. “It’s not every day you get the opportunity to develop a prime-time shift from the ground up. The Wave has given us this opportunity and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”

Ali is just as excited. “I’m thrilled to be a part of creating the sound of a new station right from the very start. We’ve had so much fun listening to all the songs we’re going to play, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it,”

Popular segments like On This Day, Entertainment News and Ali’s Random Facts will be part of the new breakfast show on 91.7FM, with some new fun segments and a $10,000 cash giveaway.

Gunners joined Ali on air in November 2014 and he has been losing sleep ever since, literally – with a 4 am wake up call. The dynamic breakfast duo have a contrasting style: Gunners enjoys lots of things but at the top of the list would be watching You Tube video’s of people falling over awkwardly and maybe hurting themselves a little bit… or a lot. Ali is blessed with the gift of the gab and was forever getting in trouble for talking at school. Now she gets paid for it.

West Coast Radio’s latest project, 91.7 The Wave has been in the works for several years and will finally be heard from 1 October. The Wave will be local and relevant, and play all listeners’ favourites from the 80’s and 90’s with a bit of noughties thrown in.
