You would have had to had everything switched off this morning to have missed the news that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift were engaged.

This morning, Ed Kelce, Travis’s dad shared some extra details about the proposal on 2DayFM’s The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma including that it actually happened last Sunday!

Ed said:

“Scott (Swift) said ‘oh, come on, when are you gonna get this done? Just get it done. Don’t worry about any special date. You’re ready. You got the ring. Go do it.’ Family, both sides, kind of assumed that this was going to happen, because we’ve never seen our kids so happy.”

Ed revealed the proposal took place in the garden at Travis’ house:

“That’s a garden in his house. He surprised her with that. They were gonna go out to dinner and she was ready to go, he said let’s go out in the garden. Let’s go out there on that little patio out there, and have a glass of wine before we go. We got time, and they went out there. And I think she knew something was up, because as they approached, as they walked out there, she could see suddenly there’s a lot more flowers out there. 

I think he proposed to her a week ago, last Sunday. Maybe, you know, because they did the podcast last week, and maybe there may even be another weekend, maybe…that foggy brain. But they did keep it quiet for a while because, you know, Taylor had the album coming out. You don’t want to take away the energy from that and I think she didn’t want that to be a subject of discussion when the announcement was made.”

Ed had no comment on when the wedding would take place but said a definite yes to the pair wanting children. Whenever that wedding is, it’s sure to be one of the events of this century witnessed by two very happy families.
