Awarded by the Melbourne Press Club for Excellence in Victorian Journalism, the 2017 Quill Awards were presented at the annual awards dinner in Melbourne on Friday.

The big winners from radio:
- The ABC Trace Team won the 2017 Podcasting Quill for the series ‘Trace’, investigating the cold case murder of Maria James.
- Bridget Judd of ABC Local Radio won the Radio Current Affairs Quill, for exploring rising recidivism rates in Victoria’s female prison system.
- 3AW Programs & News won the Radio News Quill for coverage of Melbourne’s Bourke Street tragedy.
3AW’s Neil Mitchell was also Highly Commended in the Radio News Quill category for ‘Speed Camera Virus’.
