This year Kyle and Jackie O, next year One Direction. ARN brings the stars to Dubai

We all know the Australian Radio Network ARN but you may be less than familiar with the Arabian Radio Network ARN based in Dubai which has a large contingent of Australia expats working in key positions.

In any case, the two ARNs got together last week to help facilitate the Kyle and Jackie O tour of Dubai.

ARN (Arabian) COO Steve Smith, who was for a time ARN’s (Australian) GM in Melbourne said of K & J’s visit, “They were an absolute pleasure to have here. Welcome back any time.

“Our guys worked closely with their team on all things to do with the broadcast with Kris Fade working closely with their on the street guy, Peter, showing him where to go and what to do while in his town. Great to see the two “ARN” teams working in together.

“Seems they really got into the whole Dubai thing and certainly got to experience what a great place to visit Dubai is,” said Mr Smith.

In other news from the UAE, in a coup for one of ARN’s networks in the United Arab Emirates, Virgin Radio is bringing One Direction to Dubai next year in what will be the largest show of it’s kind ever held in the region. Tickets went on sale Thursday and were sold out in four days.

“That’s 30,000 tickets and the show is 10 months away! Only promoted on Virgin Radio Dubai,” exclaims Mr Smith. “Virgin Radio, Dubai, in conjunction with sister company Done Events has pulled off an amazing result, unheard of before in The Middle East. Great example of the Power of Radio in this region.”
