2UE general manager Chris Parker announced John Brennan’s retirement as programming consultant for the station, due to illness. Brennan has been a programming consultant at 2UE since 2010. Parker wriote in a memo to staff:
“We had anticipated his continued involvement across 2012 but I’m afraid serious illnesses over the last two years has forced him to retire at 80 years of age… John Brennan’s legacy survives his tenure with 2UE through the great many media businesses he’s built and the countless hundreds of people whose career he has touched. I’m not going to attempt to acknowledge Brenno’s achievements across his 62 years of continuous work and service to the Australian media industry. I urge you to take a moment and reflect on the achievements of a man I, for one, feel privileged to have worked with.”
