Spencer Howson has left the ABC, again.
The broadcaster had hosted breakfast on ABC Brisbane on and off from 1997 to 2016. Most recently he’s been heard on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane over the summer.
“Having been a fill-in presenter since 2024, I was recently offered a contract to host the 612 ABC Brisbane Saturday Breakfast show in 2026. However, I also have the opportunity to do more work with Media Potential, and the ABC asked me to choose one or the other.

Spencer is also in the process of a PhD at Griffith University, researching the value of local radio to audiences, particularly in regional Australia.
