Awards for Nine podcasts’ Hannah’s Story and Nothin’ Like the 90’s

With Nine’s podcasting stable increasing to grow in listeners and products, two have won industry awards; Hannah’s Story the Kennedy Award for Outstanding Podcast of the Year and Anthony ‘Huddo’ Hudson’s Nothin’ Like the 90’s, Best Podcast at the Australian Football Media Awards.

Hannah’s Story, a 9News Queensland production, gave a voice to Hannah Clarke’s loved ones, the first responders on the scene, witnesses, domestic violence experts and political leaders; addressing the shocking murders and continuing the community conversation about coercive control.

Nothin Like the 90’s is an entertaining look by Huddo at 90s AFL through a modern lens, speaking to the biggest players, coaches and personalities that made that decade so iconic.

The latest Triton Australian podcast ranker showed that Nine podcasts were being heard by over 1.7 million monthly listeners, with a fairly even split between catch up radio and original content audiences.

Sports podcasts also are gaining listeners, especially this time of year with the 3AW Football podcast and Six Tackles with Gus averaging around 100K listeners a month and seeing YOY growth.

Head of 9Podcasts, Mia Stern, said:

“It’s fantastic to see listeners continue to discover our premium Australian-created podcasts and make podcasting part of their daily habit. The breadth of our content slate, profile of our talent, and strength of Nine broadcast and publishing brands continues to deliver high quality audio content across our key verticals News, Sport, Entertainment, True Crime and Radio podcasts.”
