Sydney entrepreneur and AgentSync founder Jess Whatman’s podcast Built to Lead continues to go from strength to strength after debuting earlier this year.
The podcast debuted at #15 in Apple Podcasts’ Management charts where it has continued building momentum with more than 50,000 downloads.
Jess founded the offshore Executive Assistant company AgentSync, with Built to Lead created to fill what she saw as a major gap in the business podcast space.
She said:
“There are so many podcasts focused on founder stories and big wins, but not enough talk about the team behind the growth, the leadership mistakes founders make, or what actually changes when a business starts scaling.
“I wanted to create a space for the founders who are in it right now. The ones with a team already, but who know something has to change to get to the next level. Most of the time, that change is them.”
Jess has spoken with business leaders including Kinso co-founder Frank Greef, Rivyl CEO Dain Walker, the man behind Million Dollar Coach, Taki Moore, CEO Laura Higgins, and Phil Di Bella, founder of Di Bella coffee. Built to Lead discusses the realities of growing businesses beyond the startup phase – the need for delegation, cultivating the right culture, leadership, hiring, burnout, and operational scale.
“Founders hit a point where the business starts relying too heavily on them,” said Jess.
“Everything still funnels through the founder, even with a team in place. That’s where businesses stall, and it’s where leadership has to evolve. We are facilitating real conversations with valuable insights designed to help business owners break through to the next level.
The founders who scale successfully are the ones who stop trying to do everything themselves.
Founders are craving real leadership content because scaling a business is hard, and most people are figuring it out as they go. I wanted to create a podcast that speaks honestly about that stage of business, and I’m incredibly proud that so many founders are connecting with it.”
Built to Lead is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
