Casefile Presents: The Easey Street Murders special bonus episode to wrap up the podcast series

A special bonus episode of Casefile Presents: The Easey Street Murders has been released, after the arrest in Rome and extradition of 65-year-old Perry Kouroumblis to face court in Melbourne late last year, and bringing the ARN iHeart podcast series to a close.

The Easey Street Murders podcast launched a year ago, shedding new light on the brutal killings of Susan Bartlett and Suzanne Armstrong in their Collingwood home back in 1977. Now, this special episode looks at the major updates in the case.

Hosted by award-winning journalist Helen Thomas, the finale explains in general terms how a case like this proceeds legally. Having spent over a decade investigating the double homicide – first for ABC’s Background Briefing and later in her book Murder On Easey Street, Thomas said:

“The arrest was a significant development in a case that has gripped Melbourne for nearly five decades. As we know, the search for answers has been painfully slow for Suzanne and Susan’s families.”

Corey Layton, ARN’s Head of Digital Audio, added:

“The response to The Easey Street Murders podcast highlights the lasting impact of this case. This concluding episode offers listeners an update into the case as it stands today.”

The Easey Street Murders is a co-production of iHeartPodcasts and Casefile True Crime. The special bonus episode, along with the entire season, is available now on the iHeart app.
