Mel Robbins top, Dear Rachelle surges to No 6 – Australian Podcast Ranker April 2025

In the April Triton Australian Podcast Ranker, The Mel Robbins podcast is No 1, as it has been all year, Hamish and Andy are up to #2, considerably narrowing the gap, and ABC News Top Stories is third with the most monthly downloads overall, but more than 400 episodes compared to Hamish and Andy’s 5 and Mel Robbins’ 8.

News overtook society and culture as the most listened to genre, likely due to the forthcoming Federal election. LiSTNR had the greatest sales representation, nearing an audience of 8 million. ARN iHeart celebrating its 60th consecutive podcast ranker as Australia’s #1 podcast publisher. Their highest ranked podcast was No 16’s Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne.

Top of the true crime podcasts was News Corp and NOVA Entertainment‘s Dear Rachelle. The podcast was launched in late March and up 57 spots to #6 with more than 460K monthly listeners. With the mushroom dinner trial playing out this month, in May’s ranker I am expecting to see the associated podcasts up in the top 50 as well.

The biggest mover in the top 100 was catch up radio from The Fox FM‘s Fifi, Fev and Nick, up 124 places to 55. The highest debut was another true crime podcast The Saints, from Nine Radio at No 58.
