NOVA Entertainment has launched Occasionally Funny hosted by Joshua Fox, the creator of MAFS Funny, and Sam Stanton who was the fan favourite groom from this year’s season of Married at First Sight.
MAFS Funny has had over 4.5 million downloads since launching in January 2025. The new spin off podcast will have the same irreverent tone, unpacking everything from dating disasters and reality TV to gay culture and trending moments. Alongside the laughs, Occasionally Funny will also have more serious conversations around mental health and more.
Josh said:
“Sam is the dream co-host already because his wholesomeness balances my chaos perfectly. Even though we have so much in common, it’s incredible how different we are when it comes to everything, including dating and hookups!”
Sam added:
“I don’t have many gay friends, so I’m excited that I’ve become so close with Josh and that we now get to have a laugh but also talk about life as gay men in society these days. I’m also excited to show there’s more to me than ‘sooky Sam,’ which I felt was mostly shown on Married At First Sight.”
Occasionally Funny is produced by AIIMS Creator Hub, co-founded by Joshua Fox and Pedro Cuccovillo Vitola, former radio producers, which is a partner of NOVA Entertainment since March 2025.
New episodes of Occasionally Funny are out every Wednesday on the Nova Player or wherever listeners get their podcasts.
