NZME‘s Editor-at-Large Shayne Currie has launched a new weekly podcast called Media Insider featuring interviews, analysis and insights into New Zealand’s media and entertainment industries.

The first episode is a discussion with Media and Communications Minister Paul Goldsmith on TVNZ’s financials and RNZ’s recent radio ratings.

Goldsmith tells Currie while the broadcaster had progress with its financial performance, there was still room for improvement.

He said:

“I am interested in the performance of the organisation and there are a couple of really core measures. Are people listening, and how they are competing, and then secondly, the broad issue of trust and how does the general public feel about their trustworthiness as a source?”
