SMH and the Age launch daily podcast The Morning Edition

The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age have launched a daily podcast series The Morning Edition hosted by journalist Samantha Selinger-Morris and featuring the stories behind the stories.

New episodes are released each day at 5am with Morris speaking with award-winning journalists like as Kate McClymont, Nick McKenzie and on economics, Ross Gittins.

The Morning Edition will have two regular episodes: Peter Hartcher every Thursday to dissect the biggest issues at home and abroad, and Fridays Jacqueline Maley and David Crowe talking politics.

Morris says:

“I have a burning desire to understand what’s going on, and here I get to speak to some of the finest – and most experienced – minds in the business. What a joy and relief it is when they help me, and by extension our listeners, to understand the swirling political, environmental, and often criminal forces that surround us.”

The Morning Edition has evolved from the Please Explain podcast, which was a weekly insight into the news. It is available via the mastheads or 0n Spotify, Google and Apple.
