The Athletic and Acast sign global partnership

Independent podcast company Acast have signed a global partnership with the New York TimesThe Athletic. Acast will monetise The Athletic’s shows and half a million monthly podcast downloads across its audio and video offerings from June 1.

The Athletic’s podcasts like The Athletic FC Podcast, No Dunks, The Race F1 Podcast, The Totally Football Show with James Richardson and The Athletic NBA Daily cover a multitude of sports adding to Acast’s existing Hello Sport, Rugby League Guru, P1 with Matt and Tommy, BackChat and Football Ramble.

The Athletic has more than five million global subscribers with 3 in 4 of those reporting they have purchased something they heard about in a podcast ad. Acast will have exclusive sales rights to audio ads, podcast sponsorships, podcast video and branded content across The Athletic’s podcast network in Australia.
