Murdoch steps down as Chairman of Fox and News Corp

22 September 2023 After seven decades in the media industry, Rupert Murdoch has announced he is stepping down as Chairman of Fox Corporation and News Corp. 92-year-old Murdoch will be appointed chairman emeritus of both companies. His son Lachlan Murdoch will take over as sole chairman of News Corp in November and continue as Fox’s executive chair and CEO.
