Mitchell, Murdoch and mariachis

The Age finally catches up with the ACRAs, saying Melbourne’s biggest names in radio dominated the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) last week. 3AW (owned by Fairfax, publisher of The Age) had a particularly strong night, dominating the metropolitan AM categories. Mornings host Neil Mitchell was named best talk presenter, with his senior producer Justin Smith winning the title of best talk producer. 3AW’s breakfast duo Ross and John were crowned best on-air team and won best documentary (with Age journalist John Silvester). Derryn Hinch was chosen as best current affairs presenter, which was accepted by his wife Chanel.
