Radio boss looks for new buzz after Hauraki success

The Radio Network’s revamp of Radio Hauraki has encouraged chief executive Jane Hastings to pump up the volume for its other stations. "I’ve told people here they need to be brave," said Hastings. "They don’t need to look like they’re running to the finishing line with a tray of crystal glasses. Hauraki has shown us you can blow something up and rebuild it." Hastings says she will be working on ways to bring a new buzz to the company that reaches half the commercial radio audience with stations such as Newstalk ZB, Radio Sport, The Coast and ZM/FM.
