ABC Radio Perth, WA charity Give Write and two hundred volunteers came together to wrap up the Stationery Stash campaign with a sorting morning. New and gently used items, donated by listeners, were cleaned, sharpened and packed into pencil cases, ready to be distributed to school children around WA.

Breakfast presenter Mark Gibson (main picture) said:

“In my 33 years in media, this has definitely been one of the most successful and fulfilling campaigns I have been a part of. Being able to help kids in need and an organisation like Give Write has been so rewarding.” 

Donations bins were located in a number of local schools, libraries, community centres and at the ABC Perth studios in East Perth. Half a million dollars was donated through thousands of items of stationery to help WA children be best-equipped to learn at school.
