Stockie to continue to take you inside the courtrooms of Australia’s biggest trials in The Case Of podcast

After the extraordinary reach and popularity of the Mushroom Case Daily podcast with the Australian public, more than 11 million downloads and 8,300 letters for the podcast’s Q&A section, the ABC has decided to continue its court reporting via a new The Case Of podcast.

The Mushroom Case Daily host Stephen ‘Stockie’ Stockwell returns for the twice weekly episodes as your eyes and ears inside the courtrooms of Australia’s biggest trials. With a similar crime procedural format, The Case Of podcast will see Stephen and ABC’s court reporters recapping trials, explaining legal processes, and unpacking the most interesting details of the cases behind the headlines. Listeners will learn about how the court system works in each state and be invited to ask the court reporters their questions along the way which last time varied from ‘What do jury’s get served for lunch?’ to ‘How circumstantial can your circumstantial evidence be?’

The podcast begins with the case of celebrity crocodile wrangler Matt Wright in Darwin’s Supreme Court. Mr Wright is facing charges relating to an alleged cover-up, following a fatal helicopter crash during a crocodile egg collecting mission. The crash, which was in Arnhem Land three years ago, killed Mr Wright’s close friend and co-star Chris “Willow” Wilson. Stockie will recap key events in court with reporters Olivana Smith-Lathouris and Matthew Garrick assisting with further insights and analysis.

The Case Of episodes will release every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and are available now on the ABC listen app or wherever you get your podcasts.,
