Queensland radio veteran Glenn ‘Minty’ Mintern facing harassment allegations spanning years

Queensland radio veteran Glenn ‘Minty’ Mintern is facing allegations of sending explicit and indecent messages to women over a number of years.

The harassment accusations include sending unsolicited intimate images to multiple women.

A former announcer at Townsville SCA station 4TOFM (later rebranded to Triple M), Mintern’s radio career spans more than three decades.

Mintern told the Townsville Bulletin via email it had never been his intention to hurt anyone, but he accepted that he had.

“I would like to clearly state that at all times in my public role I believe I acted professionally and with absolute belief and desire to further the businesses and charities I supported to make our city and region a better place, unfortunately my private life was far from that with my demons a constant part of my existence without that being confronted and dealt with.”

Mintern previously ran a radio school in Townsville. He was involved with numerous sporting organisations and, up until recently, had an on-ground hosting role at NRL club the North Queensland Cowboys. He also worked as the Game Day Host for WNBL side Townsville Fire.

In 2020, after 34 years in radio, he launched his own business, GM Media.

Mintern’s LinkedIn and social media accounts have been deactivated.
