The ABA has invited applications for new community radio broadcasting licences for Coober Pedy in South Australia and Tumut in southern NSW.
ABA Chairman, David Flint, says: “We are pleased to start allocating a community licence for Coober Pedy and Tumut, after our planning process identified a demand for a new community service, operated by people living in these regions.”
Applicants should contact the ABA’s Licensing Section on 1 800 226 667 or (02) 9334 7700 for copies of the application information booklet. The ABA website: www.aba.gov.au/radio/services/licence_types/community/index also has general information.
Applications for the respective licences must be received before midnight on Friday 25 June. From Friday 2 July, copies of all applications will be placed for public perusal on the ABA website.
Copies of all applications will also be at the Coober Pedy and Tumut public libraries.
