Here's a bit of irony for you... when 702 ABC Sydney and its DAB+ counterpart are in simulcast, I prefer to listen to the AM service because the sound is more consistent. I find the erratic audio levels on the DAB+ service highly distracting and completely unsuitable for in-car listening. It is clear that the people responsible for output quality/consistence have grown accustomed to leaving the job of quality control to the AGC and Multi-band compression circuits in the network's fleet of Optimods at AM transmission sites. Lift your game ABC and give DAB+ listeners sound quality worth tuning in for!
