Jane Reilly farewells breakfast radio on FIVEaa

FIVEaa today announced that after 3 years as part of the team, Jane Reilly will depart from her role on the FIVEaa breakfast show.

Jane has made the decision to finish the breakfast radio show with her co-hosts David Penberthy and Mark Aiston, at the end of this year to ‘take time to smell the roses’ and enjoy more personal time with her family and friends.

Reilly said “Over the past 4 decades I’ve always put work first. Now it’s time to put my family and friends first. While I’ll miss waking up with the Breakfast team, having more sleep is definitely more enticing!”

FIVEaa General Manager Neil O’Reilly, said: “Jane has been an important part of the FIVEaa Breakfast team and, although we will be sad to see her go, after three years of early starts we appreciate her decision to take time out to explore the world with her partner.  We wish her well on her next exciting adventure and although Jane won’t be returning to breakfast, she will remain a part of the FIVEaa family and will have a role with the station when she returns to Adelaide”

Jane Reilly has enjoyed a distinguished media career spanning over 40 years. She was the face of Adelaide’s Network Ten News and Weather for 17 years and won a TV Week Logie Award for Most Popular Female Personality in 1984. In August this year, Jane received an Order of Australia Medal for service to the broadcast media and to charitable groups.

Jane will continue with the FIVEaa Breakfast team for the remainder of 2015 and an announcement on the 2016 line up will come soon.
