Jeff Rushton, a great mentor and a wonderful friend. They just don't make people like Jeff any more, he was an exceptional human being and a outstanding contributor to Commercial Radio in Australia.
Merry Christmas to all in this industry hope the new year sees continuous growth and perhaps some more equality in the way the payments are received by hard working announcers who are not on Cap City breakfast or talk back
Two years ago on Christmas Eve, we lost a great radio news talent in Jim Angel. Miss his voice and presence to this day. Merry Christmas up there Jim, give my best to mum, she also loved you on Sydney radio !
Regards,
IAN in Adelaide.
Great comments Marissa I agree completely with everything you have said.
To keep and grow a radio audience you need to engage them and make them want to listen.
Triple J is a station which could be doing a lot more for their audience and to become the true national broadcaster it should be. I feel they need to take a look at BBC Radio 1 to model themselves on.
Radio 1 is a perfect example of what national radio could be in this country. Everything from the presenters, music, news and the specials that they produce make it the success that it is. Something for Triple J to aspire to.
