No matter what people wish to call them if these drugs are illegal they should not be referred to as "Recreational Drugs". They are illegal and cause way too much damage in the community and should be called what they are illegal drugs or killer drugs.
I have no concern with drug and alcohol testing in the workplace or the sports field.
Yes drug use is wide spread in the industry and should be stamped out.
It's fair to say radio has its fair share of dopes, some even take drugs !

John Laws will always remain the greatest broadcaster this country has ever seen! The radio landscape has changed in a way we could have never foreseen and Lawsie is a victim of that change! He may as well hang in 'til the end of the 2010 contract and who else could Southern Cross replace him with?
I was at 2UE when Lawsie started his talkback career. Before computers, he had a producer. coplete with encyclopedias and reference books to answer listener's questions. John has always been a great showman. Radio is in his blood, but 2UE's current owners haven't helped with some of their decisions in other programme areas.
If I was you, John, I'd take my Golden Microphone home and go on those world tours you want to do. There's more to life than trying to keep a "once great station" afloat. Why not buy Bill Caralis out, and establish a GREAT AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY RADIO NETWORK??
