I don't think Pink should have too much to worry about, how many people are able to listen to digital radio anyway?
It came on in Brisbane today, and I had a radio I had to tune in to my existing FM radio to have any chance of listening!! Cables all over the car, and another antenna on the windscreen this time, but what awesome quality of sound, especially for 4BH and 4KQ, compared to their AM signal.
So much so I decided to upgrade the radio in my car - I wish! First place I rang had no idea what I was talking about and didn't want to know. The second place said "Oh yes we've had one of those radios out the back for five years, not sure if it's still there but won't be getting any more"
The third place actually knew what I was talking about, but didn't have any hardware and had no idea on when they would have. They rang Alpine and rang me back to say there would be nothing available until some time NEXT YEAR!!!!
Looks like I will have to put up with cables and antenna and inferior sound quality relayed through tuning through FM. How many radio listeners will be prepared to do this?
Such a shame I was really looking forward to upgrading my car radio and enjoying what is without doubt great quality audio.
I don't think Pink should be at all concerned, there won't be anybody listening in their cars!!!!!
Very Poor
(In reply to a previous topic: Pink Sees Red over Pink Radio Station)...
How is this case any different to the basic principle of playing popular music on mainstream radio? If record companies start demanding royalities for good promotions which are deliverable through new technologies, these promotions will be sufficated by the pressure of profiting the radio station AND the record company.
Record companies should recognise their main revenue stream is selling music to the masses and not interupt the mutual symbiosis with radio stations that has worked so well.
In the end, their product is still being promoted. Perhaps radio stations should charge record companies for the favour!
