It's not rocket science. Just say you're gonna take the 10th or 12th caller.
Some of us have done this for years to avoid the professional contest winners who use speed dial etc.
You can either count the calls or just wait a minute or two and take a random call.
The aim is not to see who can dial their phone the fastest.
It's to get a spread of different winners each time.
Caller 57 - I think you miss my point. I am writing this not as an announcer but as a listener, seeing that I am not in the paid side of the industry at the moment. Even an announcer stating that they would take the 10th caller still means that I start 10 seconds after everyone else. And most stations only have about 10 contest lines (some have 20) but it would still mean very little if any chance for me to be in the running.
