I'd like to find out about digital radio too, as well as the "new" automated systems to judge radio surveys that are coming soon - that might replace the booklets which are distributed to households...
Last year was a big improvement on previous years - I like the international speakers - we need to see and hear different views and people that we wouldn't usually get to see live. I'd like to see someone talk about where radio is really going - and why advertisers just won't increase their spend!
Talkback is very strong - especially in Sydney at the moment. But when the current crop of baby boomers start to die out in rapid succession in the next few years as they get into their 60 's and 70's, if talkback is going to survive, then it needs a big rethink. So, with that in mind, why don't we get someone like Michael Savage or Laura Ingraham.
With our rich history of broadcasting in Australia and an impressive archival collection held at Screensound Australia in Canberra. I would like to attend an interesting workshop showing us the kind of work that is carried out to preserve things like, transcription discs etc. for future generations to appreciate. It would be technically interesting and show us what Screensound is all about.
More of a street presense and less repeating of songs
Gotta be the man DAN O'DAY this guy is brilliant . Do ya self a favour get this guys stuff, it is excellent
Would love to hear from some of the network PD's from some of the bigger networks here in OZ. Things like, what they look for in new tallent, both on and off air, how they implement new programming ideas, and whatever other "secrets" they want to give away.
Would be great to hear from MD's as well, finding out from them, what makes a song good, how they go about adding tracks(not literaly) and the research that goes into maintaining the station song universe. Not sure if this is the thought shared by many others, but I believe that a lot of people in smaller stations aspire to be a part of one of the few 'major' networks, so any info from the GMs, PDs, MDs and such would go down well. What about some of the modern day Radio legends too, like Uncle Doug, Denton, Mickey Robbins and Wendy Harmer to name but a few. Would be good to hear from them too. Like Big Kev - Im excited!
