Former 2UE radio host Michael Smith ?who was dismissed over an unaired interview that makes allegations about Julia Gillard ? has being doing the media rounds of late. He appeared in The Weekend Australian on Saturday and despite instructions from SBS Publicity not to speak, he gladly spruiked his upcoming TV debut. But that’s not the only presence Smith has had in the media of late.
The Australian’s Diary column hears he has also become an expert commentator on the MP Craig Thomson, making multiple appearances on former rival station Radio 2GB’s Drive Show hosted by Ben Fordham. Given he was sacked after management at 2UE felt he was too big a risk to have on air, this is an interesting turn of events.
