Australia’s Olympic supremo John Coates has been unable to convince ABC chair Ita Buttrose to reverse the public broadcaster’s decision not to provide radio commentary at the Tokyo Games.
The pair met for about 45 minutes today inside the ABC’s Ultimo headquarters in Sydney without a resolution to the ABC rights boycott, which will force Australian Olympians to compete in radio silence for the first time in 68 years.
