APN News & Media’s chairman has held out the promise of reinstating dividend payouts when the Australian publisher and broadcaster has a better handle on its debt. The company has committed to reducing debt and improving its balance sheet, so isn’t paying a dividend for now. “The board is conscious that the company has not paid a dividend for some time,” chairman Peter Cosgrove said in a speech to the company’s annual meeting of shareholders.
