APN shares soar 21pc as company bounces back into black

APN News & Media’s influential shareholder Simon Marais believes the worst may be over for the media company after the share price leapt on a better than expected half-year result. Shares in APN soared 21 per cent, or 6c, to 35c, as the trans-Tasman publisher posted a $12.7 million net profit after tax for the six months to June, under newly installed chief executive Michael Miller.
