Cathy O’Connor and Alan Jones framed by Harold Mitchell

Harold Mitchell is part of the furniture at Machiavelli, just as the Italian restaurant is a fixture in Sydney’s corridors of power. So it was only fitting that owners "Mama" Giovanna Toppi and her daughter Caterina invited Mr Mitchell to curate the next set of portraits overlooking the famous dining room, as a gift for his 70th birthday. The gallery of media movers and shakers was finally unveiled at a special lunch on Wednesday, two years after the initial commission. In a corner of the room diners can eat beneath Bald Mountain, featuring the mugs of Fairfax Media chief executive   Greg Hywood, former News Corp boss Kim Williams and radio broadcaster Alan Jones. A handful of those honoured attended the unveiling, including Mr Leckie and Nova Entertainment chief Cathy O’Connor.
