Derryn Hinch would already be in jail if not for the cancer that has left his life dependent on a liver transplant. He argued that living at Port Phillip Prison, on Melbourne’s western fringe, would rule him out of getting to hospital in time if a liver became available.
Magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg agreed and assumed Hinch’s home would be approved for detention when corrections officers visit next week, reports The Australian.
