Meet “The Duck”. He’s been variously described as Ray Hadley’s “henchman”, executive assistant, agent/manager and "bearer of bad news". His real name is Rob Smith, and he will play a cameo role in the impending court action against 2GB’s top-rating host. In addition to facing allegations of bullying a junior employee and “deliberately inflicting psychological harm”, Hadley is facing the curious-sounding charge of “false imprisonment”. This is where The Duck, or Duck Creek as he is sometimes known, fits in. The Duck was the man who allegedly stood blocking the door to Hadley’s office while the host verbally abused and threatened Richard Palmer, a digital content manager at the station.
