Rumours persist that a sale is again on the cards. This is denied by all parties, with Fairfax chief executive Greg Hywood several times flatly rejecting a sale and Russell Tate, the executive chairman of the most likely bidder, Macquarie Radio Network, saying: "On and off the record, there’s nothing happening."
