Senator Bob Day – current federal chairman of Family First – has backed calls for the privitisation of triple j.
“It’s impossible for private media companies … to get established because of the virtually unlimited budget of the ABC,” Senator Day told the Associated Press. However, while he says there “could be merit” in selling triple j he doesn’t support calls for the entire broadcaster to be sold off.
