Fiery start to radio ratings year in Melbourne

3AW has been thumped in the second ratings survey of 2009, dropping 2.1 points to 13.8 per cent overall and slipping to third place in the 40-54 age bracket. Once again, the adult-oriented broadcaster has fewer middle-aged listeners than hipster station Fox. But it remains king of the 55-plus market, from which it draws more than half its audience, reports The Age Green Guide.
