How does the Eagles song go? You can check in anytime you like, but you can never leave. Well, apparently, you can (Don Henley wasn’t entirely right).
Mark Hyland has been with bay 93.9 for 28 years but rather than shooting for the big 30, the slacker has decided he’s sick of getting out of bed at 4 am and he’d prefer to sleep in and surf all day. Which, to be fair, sounds like a pretty good deal.
What does this mean for us? Geelong Broadcasters is looking for a special sort of human to join the bay 93.9 Breakfast show in clever, creative, beautiful Geelong.
What kind of person are we after?
- You will be energetic, a bit cheeky and always up for fun
- Sound experience working on a show (not just solo) and passionate about producing fast-paced, action-packed content.
- Excellent on-air, however, you also help your co-host to be as good as they can be. There is no ‘I’ in team, right?
- The content you bring to the show (and that resonates with you) will be on point for our 40-54 female core.
- You know that ‘local’ isn’t just a word in an IGA ad, it means living and breathing it, immersing yourself in the local community and reflecting that on the air. Every day.
- You are a good human, awesome on and off the air. You look out for others and don’t leave coffee cups lying around for some other schmuck to pick up. That sort of stuff.
- You know the difference between a growth and fixed mindset and are committed to kind, clear communication and evolving day-to-day.
- You are fine to work the occasional weekend, maybe on the air, maybe at an event, maybe cleaning the boss’s car*
- You know Zetta, Audata and maybe V-Creative.
- If you can panel, that’s handy as well.
- If you are experienced in whipping up gear for our digital platforms that’s a bonus.
- Our values will resonate with you and you are eager to put them into practice daily;
