FOXTEL drops Smooth music channel

FOXTEL has confirmed adult contemporary smooth music content will depart the pay-tv platform on June 30.

The easy-listening channel Smooth was produced in partnership with radio group Nova Entertainment. It originally launched as a 24hr channel in 2013, and featured hosts Cameron Daddo and Marcia Hines.

The departure of Smooth comes after Foxtel recently signed a deal with CBSViacom to outsource the production of all music programming on the platform, a move that will also see the closure of heritage music brand Channel V, along with Max and CMC.
