THE former owner of perhaps the most famous kidney in media circles has been identified as the woman who played a role in the UK phone hacking scandal and was sacked by Elle MacPherson. Mary-Ellen Field donated her kidney to veteran PM presenter Mark Colvin last December, although at the time her identity was kept from the public. The operation was subsequently the focus of a Four Corners program about the challenges of organ donation in Australia.
