Nine Entertainment Co is expected to complete the sale of 170 regional and community newspapers over the next week in a move that could clear the way for a deal with radio network Macquarie Media.
This includes regional and community titles like The Canberra Times, The Newcastle Herald, The Examiner, The Border Mail, The Courier and the Illawarra Mercury, and agricultural titles The Land, Queensland Country Life and Stock & Land, and would allow Nine to acquire John Singleton’s shares in Macquarie and finalise Alan Jones contract negotiations.
