The evidence is in: the radio shock-jock Alan Jones’s longstanding nickname, "the Parrot", is grounded in reality. Two Queensland academics, Graeme Turner and Stephen Crofts, ploughed through 835 pages of transcripts of Jones’s five-hour 2GB program from October 2005, finding the ratio of his talking to that of his callers was higher than that of other talkback radio hosts.
