Fairfax Media has ignored a push by the world’s richest woman, Gina Rinehart, for a board seat, instead appointing a former Ernst & Young chief executive, James Millar, reports Fairfax’s Sydney Morning Herald. Mrs Rinehart is the biggest shareholder in Fairfax, with a 12.6 per cent stake, but it seems she will need a larger stake, or significant support from other shareholders, before she would win a board position.
