Fairfax Media’s share registry has been the subject of more fervent activity after substantial shareholder Maple-Brown Abbott sold down its holding.The investment manager has reduced its holding to 7.93 per cent from 8.95 per cent after shares in Fairfax rallied following the decision by ad man John Singleton and investment banker Mark Carnegie to climb on to the publisher’s share register last month and join forces with Gina Rinehart.
